Freeform is releasing a new unscripted show, giving an inclusive look into NYC life for LGBTQ+ Gen Z. Launching September 13th, The Come Up will follow six Gen Z “disruptors” nativagating a post-pandemic era in The Big Apple. According to Freeform, “[t]he show follows the creative NYC underground, giving viewers an exclusive look into how the next generation of icons define themselves and how culture is created.” The cast includes Taofeek Abijako, the youngest designer featured in NYFW; Fernando Casablancas, a non-binary model; Ben Hard, an actor, comedian, photographer, and dancer; Claude Shwartz, model and actress; Ebon Trower, a trans queer night-life party host and model; and Sophia Wilson, a photgraphy prodigy who is advocating for inclusion in the industry. Freeform will be releasing the episodes the day after their air date on Hulu, the fifth most diverse and inclusive platform according to Gen Z. (Pride)
