Nike dropped a collection of 20,000 NFT sneakers—and they’re selling for $8K. ICYMI: Nike recently bought virtual sneaker designer RTFKT (pronounced “artifact,” of course). Now, it has officially dropped the Nike Dunk Genesis Cryptokicks, a virtual collection featuring 20,000 NFT sneakers. People have been buying them up for between $7,500 to $9K (a.k.a. 2.5-3 ether). The appeal is that the kicks can be changed and customized with digital vials and rare skins, and RTFKT notes crypto kicks holders can “evolve” their skins by performing online quests. YPulse’s Buying Into Crypto & NFTs trend research shows young consumers who are buying into NFTs are influenced to purchase because they think it will increase in financial value—and they like what the NFT looks like.
