Hello maximalist styles and bright colors; goodbye lockdown loungewear. According to a new report from Trendalytics, consumers are dressing in “loud” fashion as a form of self-expression as they hit the streets and ditch their comfy loungewear. Fur-trimmed jackets, tiered ruffled dresses, patterned pants, and more “Retro-Futurism” pieces are among the trends to watch for women, along with bold patterns, and flashy and fun accessories for men. Children’s fashion is also embracing maximalism through sequins, rainbows, and tulle skirts. Trend analysts have been keeping their eye on maximalism in fashion (which has also been having a moment in home decor), and Klarna just tapped A$AP Rocky to inspire consumers to “rediscover fashion.” (Sourcing Journal, Marketing Dive)
