Twitter is experimenting with new ecommerce shopping features within tweets. Social shopping is picking up, and Twitter is the latest to test new features to make it easier for users to shop directly through the platform. They include “a new way to display tweets that link out to ecommerce product pages” like products on a Shopify store. They are also playing around with a new Twitter card format that will include a big “Shop” button and integrate product details directly into the tweet itself like the product’s name, shop name, and pricing information.
