Snapchat is expanding their Bitmoji fashion offerings. During Snapchat’s massive year of growth, several fashion brands used the app to display digital styles via Bitmoji, including Ralph Lauren, Nike’s Jordan brand, and Levi’s. Now Snap is reportedly testing a new clothing option that lets users “choose a range of fashion items from different retailers” for their avatars. They report almost 70% of their users interact with friends with Bitmoji characters in some capacity. If Snapchat is able to “bring in more retailers,” the company would be able to “project a vision” of new clothes on behalf of the brands through these animated characters, which serves as “a vehicle for promotion and brand affiliation.” The end result will be a “win for both customers and the brand” as the latter will get the chance to show off new collections.
