McDonald’s is finally going meatless with the McPlant. The popularity of fake meat has actually been accelerated by COVID, and fast food brands from Burger King to Chipotle have been adding plant-based products to their menu—but McDonald’s has been a hold-out. Until now. The chain is finally getting into the meatless industry with the launch of “McPlant” in 2021, their very own plant-based meat alternatives which include burgers, chicken substitutes, and breakfast sandwiches.
