Direct-to-consumer brands are reimagining the mall. Malls might not be doing so well, but many DTC brands have discovered the value of customers “browsing for multiple brands in one place.” DTC lifestyle site The Verticale launched an online marketplace housing 50 digitally native brands from beauty, personal care, fashion, and home décor. Hair care brand Act + Acre, Gen Z-focused personal care brand Blume, skincare brand Onekin, underwear startup Knickey, and Millennial frying pan brand Caraway are among the brands included. But that’s not the only online “DTC mall”: Thingtesting, Staycation by Maude, Elliot’s Virtual Mall, and Take Care Market have all recently emerged in attempts to be a “cure-all for DTC brand woes.” (Glossy) |
