Data-driven startup Songfluencer is predicting TikTok’s next music hits. It’s no secret that TikTok has become a space for emerging (and old) songs to go viral, and some record labels have been turning to secret weapons to find the next big tracks. Last year, after Sub Urban’s “Cradles” went viral on the app, the singer signed a deal with Warner Records. To replicate the success, the company enlisted the help of Songfluencer, a digital marketing company that has run over 1,000 campaigns on the platform. One aspect that’s been appealing to the music industry: The company uses software that collects data from the app to “quantify the value of influencers” and analyze the paths of a host of TikTok hits.
