| Mars Wrigley is launching a digital trick-or-treating platform to help boost candy sales during a scary Halloween season. Though YPulse has found that many young consumers refuse to cancel Halloween this year, the holiday will of course look different, and candy companies are looking for creative ways to ensure that their biggest time of year isn’t a bust. The maker of Halloween-favorites M&M’s, Snickers, Twix, and Skittles is going digital with their efforts, launching Treat Town, a month-long platform where visitors can virtually trick-or-treat via app, and collect points that can be exchanged for actual candy in-stores. The brand’s president reports that candy sales are “coming back faster than [they] anticipated,” and the brand is always in innovation mode.” (Forbes, PR Newswire) |
