In other massive tech grudge match news, Epic Games threw a #FreeFortnite tournament to continue their public battle against Apple. In case you need to be brought up to speed: since Apple banned Fortnite from the App Store, Epic has been campaigning against the tech giant, suing them and releasing a spoof of the famous “1984” ad—with Apple as the villain. Now, they’ve continued their #FreeFortnite efforts with a gaming tournament held yesterday, promising “All of your friends. Fabulous prizes. And one bad apple.” Players could earn points to get an in-game costume of an evil apple, and win non-Apple tech prizes like PS4s and Android phones, as well as a “Free Fortnite” hat—which features a design that plays off Apple’s classic logo. Ouch. (The Verge)
