Businesses in college towns are struggling without students on campus. From restaurants to retail shops, small businesses in college towns around the country have been struggling to stay afloat during COVID with students away from campuses. Many have been relying on takeout or curbside pickup, GoFundMe donations from students and alumni, and even funds from universities. While a few colleges are expected to reopen in the fall, fears linger from business owners on how to safely reopen amid the pandemic.
