Gen Z thinks YouTube’s algorithm “gets them.”

Gen Z thinks YouTube’s algorithm “gets them.” According to a Whistle Wise study, 77% of 13-to-24-year-olds welcome personalized and curated video recommendations as a part of their viewing experience. In fact, 55% said they prefer recommendations directly from platforms like YouTube and Netflix over what’s shared by family and friends—they’re more likely to feel this way than Millennials—and 65% prefer YouTube’s recommendations over Netflix. YPulse’s Growing Up YouTube trend research shows that Gen Z has been raised on the platform, and it’s impacted their media preferences and behavior. (MediaPost, Whistle)
