Social media could actually be a remedy for teen anxiety and depression. Some anxious young people may avoid social media and texting, but psychologists say those who skip out on it might be missing out on meaningful social connections. Some boot camps are even encouraging young attendees to post selfies on Snapchat or Instagram, and many are finding that it helps when they get positive feedback from their peers. But these teens are also being taught the skills to deal with cyberbullies, and the stress of getting no likes or responses at all. (WSJ)
