Gen Z is “absolutely going to hold [brands] accountable,” explains Beautycon’s founder. The two-day beauty event draws in a 13-34-year-old demo by understanding their target audience, knowing that they want a company to be more than just the product it sells. Beautycon has branched out to advising brands that go beyond beauty, explaining that young consumers are more in-the-know than ever and won’t buy brands they don’t support socio-politically. Case in point: Dolce & Gabbana.
