For the first time in seven years, MTV has experienced its third consecutive quarter of year-over-year prime-time growth among 18-34-year-olds. A renewed focus on live and unscripted content—like Jersey Shore Family Vacation which become the highest rated series premiere in MTV history—became a turning point for the once-struggling network. They plan to continue the momentum with new shows this year like Too Stupid to Die, which will be “in the spirit of Jackass,” and True Crime Life, which will be about viral crime stories. (Adweek)
