Millennials didn't kill malls—in fact, foot traffic is up this holiday season. Post-retail apocalypse, experiential new outlets have replaced dated department stores, and the shift is luring in young shoppers. Year-over-year, the International Council of Shopping Centers found that 151 million people went to malls and shopping centers Thanksgiving Day weekend, compared to 145 million in 2017. In addition, Ypulse data shows that 65% of 18-36-year-olds frequent malls and shopping centers at least once a month. (USA Today)
