Are beauty brands trying out-diversify each other? Right on the heels of Maybelline’s announcement of their first ever male beauty ambassador, L'Oréal debuted a campaign during the Golden Globes that featured trans model Hari Nef along with a diverse range of faces. The “Your Skin, Your Story” campaign is, according to the brand, “fueled by a mission to empower everyone to own and embrace their individual beauty and intrinsic worth.” Ypulse’s trend The Diversity Tipping Point revealed that 69% of 13-33-year-olds believe it’s positive when brands feature diverse models in ads.
