Can toy-free time for kids help to curb addiction later in life? The toy-free kindergarten project, which can now be found in “hundreds of kindergartens throughout Germany, Switzerland, and Austria,” takes away toys for a period of three months with the aim to strengthen the life skills needed to combat “addictive behaviors in the future.” According to one expert, “Explaining…what drugs do to the body or the brain, gives people information but it doesn’t deter them.” (The Atlantic)
