Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields benefit music festival was a huge success. With a lineup that included Gen Z faves like Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Bikini Kill, they festival raised $20M for nonprofits supporting women’s wellbeing, reproductive health, and rights. Before Rodrigo herself hit the stage, $10M was already raised to be donated across 10 nonprofits including Planned Parenthood and the National Women’s Law Center. However, the real surprise came when Melinda French Gates matched another $10M during Rodrigo’s set. The festival hosted a “philanthropy village” where festivalgoers could learn about nonprofits the festival supported, helping to connect Rodrigo’s Gen Z fanbase directly with organization supporting women’s causes.
