Politicians are turning to Gen Z influencers to court voters. Both top Democrats and Republicans have young content creators posting videos in which they critique policies or endorse candidates, often racking up millions of views. Pay reportedly ranges between hundreds and thousands for each, but notably, they don’t have to disclose these posts are paid. Some young influencers who build platforms based on political content have lost out on other brand deals, though. It’s a somewhat murky line of work to get into, because there are few regulations guiding the political content creation industry and other brands don’t want to risk picking a side inadvertently. But since 50M Gen Z will be eligible to vote this year, the stakes are high for politicians and these creators. (CNN)
