Some Gen Z are more focused on saving for vacation than retirement. AmongΒ J.P. Morgan plan participants, Gen Z is more likely to prioritize saving money for emergency savings (63%), education debt repayment (48%), and home ownership (24%) over retirement savings. But just as many as are focused on school debt (48%) would prioritize vacations over retirement savings, compared to the 29% average of all adult in the U.S. Even with inflation shifting their financial priorities, itβs clear that Gen Z isnβt willing to give up on their travel aspirations. And when it comes to retirement savings, Gen Z respondents overwhelmingly agreed that employers should provide guidanceΒ on how much they should set aside and contribute (81%) and help them choose retirement investments (70%).
