Is Ozempic becoming part of Gen Z’s job negotiations? This gen is not just negotiating PTO and salary anymore—we know wellness is a huge priority for them. A new ZipHealth study of U.S. workers found that nearly half (47%) of Gen Z said GLP-1 coverage would be a swaying factor in a choice between two similar jobs. Just under one in 10 said they would even take a pay cut to work somewhere that covers it. But even as weight-loss drugs become more mainstream and access to them is an appealing benefit, the majority of Gen Z workers aren’t comfortable discussing weight management goals with HR, while more than half felt uncomfortable disclosing GLP-1 use specifically. YPulse research shows that Gen Z is feeling the pressure of more pervasive weight loss culture due to the rising popularity of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, but whether it would actually lead their job choices is questionable given the majority of 18-24-year-olds are not interested in trying them.
