YPulse data shows that many young people have tried to unplug and take breaks from technology for years now. But with the trend of “going analog,” Deloitte research documented a surge in app deletions and screentime limits among British Gen Z in 2025. Since then, there’s been a surge in offline movements and tech-free experiences among young adults who are craving offline connection. These “analog” experiences—like paintballing, escape rooms, and live music—are flourishing in turn. It’s not just IRL experiences winning Gen Z dollars, though. Apps that help users lessen social media consumption are growing, as well, with the global social-media-blocker app market projected to reach $5B by 2035. (Fortune)
