Gen Z wants a better world, and they feel like it’s literally on them to help build it. YPulse’s Causes / Charity & Activism report shows 78% of both teens (13-17) and young adults (18-24) believe they can make a difference by getting involved in social good or charity work. This is a generation that’s come of age with constant exposure to social issues—whether through social media or lived experience—but their awareness isn’t just abstract, it’s personal. And that shows up in their actions: volunteering in their free time, making more intentional (and yes, often budget-dependent) sustainable choices, and using their social platforms to speak out whether that’s posting, boycotting, or sharing info in group chats as they try to shift things, even if it’s one decision at a time.
