After years of being labeled everything from anxious and burned out to chronically online, Gen Z is doing something a little unexpected: choosing to be present. In a deliberate, almost defiant shift, Gen Z has spent the summer actually living their lives offline and romanticizing them instead of just documenting them. Call it a vibe shift, call it a coping mechanism; either way, Gen Z is calling it their summer.
