From viral trend to shelf, Pepsi is launching a “dirty soda.”

Oct 01 2025

From viral trend to shelf, Pepsi is launching a “dirty soda.” YPulse first reported on the “dirty soda” trend, a.k.a. soda with creamers and syrups, in 2022, and it’s gained further popularity after showing up on Netflix’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Now, Pepsi is bottling up a cream soda-flavored Mountain Dew, making them one of the first to make the trendy DIY drink an actual product. Part of the inspiration is no doubt that while Gen Z loves soda, the market has actually been struggling—but dirty soda’s market is growing, and we know young consumers love flavor experimentation. YPulse predicted we’d see viral trends just like this go mainstream in food this year, putting young consumers’ own creations in official packaging. (Food Dive)
