McDonald’s is bringing back Extra Value meals (hello, recession indicator).

McDonald’s is bringing back Extra Value meals (hello, recession indicator). Taco Bell isn’t the only fast-food chain bringing back fan favorites—McDonald’s is jumping on the nostalgia train, too. The brand is relaunching its Extra Value Menu worldwide, kicking off with $5 breakfast meals and following up with $8 dinner options later this month. Eight meal deals spanning breakfast, lunch, and dinner will roll out through the end of 2025. In a moment when young diners are feeling both inflation-weary and budget-conscious, McDonald’s is positioning itself as the go-to, wallet-friendly option. YPulse’s Food Shopping and Trends report shows 78% of 13-39-year-olds agree, “Fast food feels like a splurge because of how expensive it is now,” making these value deals especially appealing.
