Instagram launched a new feature exclusively for college students.

Instagram launched a new feature exclusively for college students. The new hub within the app, accessible through the users’ Instagram bio, lets college students create a private space to connect with classmates. By verifying through UNiDAYS, students can add their school to their profile, access a searchable directory, and filter their peers by year—mirroring TikTok’s recent college-only “Campus Verification” feature. (And a host of smaller platforms who have attempted to make college-only socials in the past.) Instagram says their goal is to make it easier to form campus connections, and it’s ultimately a full-circle moment where Meta is leaning into Facebook’s campus community roots. (Mashable)
