Traditional mall retailers are failing, and Instagram and Pinterest may be partly to blame.

Traditional mall retailers are failing, and Instagram and Pinterest may be partly to blame. Millennials want experiences they can share on social media, and affordable fast fashion brands potentially give them more outfit images to share. At the same time, social platforms like Pinterest have created a generation with more access to “high-level” fashion and runway looks in real time, giving an edge to retailers like Zara, who can “respond to fashion changes” and new styles much more quickly. More traditional brands are trying to find ways to keep up. (Business Insider)
