Summerween is back (yes, already), and Gen Z is celebrating. Inspired by the fictious holiday in the Gen Z-loved show, Gravity Falls, young people are once again celebrating Summerween through pool parties riddled with carved watermelons, spooky crafts, and scary movie nights. Early Halloween shopping has begun for a lot of young consumers already, too. All kinds of retailers are hopping on the early fall wave, like Michaels who had its earliest Halloween launch ever last month and Lowe’s who released its “Halfway to Halloween” collection all the way back in April. Young consumers are flooding TikTok with videos of their #Summerween fun, with many throwing parties, which of course include themed treats, spooky décor, and hilarious costumes. (WSJ)
