A real-life Harriet the Spy started out writing news for her hometown, and is now writing a book series.

Jul 12 2016

A real-life Harriet the Spy started out writing news for her hometown, and is now writing a book series. Scholastic has recently obtained the worldwide rights to nine-year-old reporter Hilde Lysiaks’ four books, based on her true stories of riding her pink bike to break news like tornados, fires, hero dogs, and even murder in her Pennsylvania hometown. The “realistic fiction” books will star Hilde and her older sister Izzy solving mysteries, and be “part Harriet the Spy, part Nancy Drew.” Several parties are also interested in buying Lysiaks’s life rights.
