Will Millennials ever be okay with paying for content? Digital-native publishers like BuzzFeed and Vox are hoping they eventually will, as they look into implementing digital paywall strategies that have helped other news outlets. But according to a 2015 survey from the American Press Institute, only 25% of 18-34-year-olds in the U.S. are paying for some sort of digital news service, while more than half pay for entertainment content. A BI Intelligence suggests alternative paywall models like micropayments and membership programs may the best bet for publishers who need their Millennial audience to stick around.
