Happy Halloween! This year, discounts and specialty stores will likely have the happiest day, with Halloween spending expected to reach an all time high of $8.4 billion. More Millennials are getting into the spooky spirit, and they’re looking for the best deals. According to the National Retail Federation, almost half of consumers were going to shop at a discount store for Halloween, followed by 36% at specialty Halloween/costume stores. Department stores traditionally haven’t participated in the holiday and might be “ignoring the opportunity.” (The Business of Fashion)
