The BBC released a dupe of Stranger Things. Set in Dublin, Video Nasty follows three teens on an adventure to complete their collection of 71 infamous “video nasties,” (a British term for low-budget horror movies that contain obscene scenes) but get mixed up in a murder on the way. With this new show looking just like Stranger Things, the BBC is tapping into young people’s love for the ‘80s and the charm of pre-digital life. And it’s using similar ingredients that made the OG so successful: the show is filled with vintage quirks like Walkmen, scrunchies, VHS tapes, and classic low-budget horror films. (The Telegraph)
