Heineken’s “0.0 Reasons Needed” campaign aims to reduce the stigma around non-drinkers, especially during Dry January.

Heineken’s “0.0 Reasons Needed” campaign aims to reduce the stigma around non-drinkers, especially during Dry January. Research shows that 25% of Americans participated in Dry January in 2024, up from 16% in 2023, with Gen Z particularly interested. Though, YPulse data showed this year the young gens are losing a bit of interest in the challenge as they take on sobriety year-round (or feel just fine about drinking often). But, despite attitudes changing, many feel a stigma remains for those who choose not to drink among younger people. Among Gen Z men, 38% say they’d only choose non-alcoholic options if their friends did and 29% feel they need to justify their drink choices. This campaign for Heineken 0.0 shows that choosing not to drink shouldn’t have to come from any reason other than not wanting to, breaking down the need to explain themselves when they choose non-alcoholic options.
