Mattel accidentally printed “Wicked.com”—an adult content site—on the packaging for dolls from the upcoming movie.

Nov 14 2024

Mattel accidentally printed “Wicked.com”—an adult content site—on the packaging for dolls from the upcoming movie. Rather than directing buyers to the intended “wickedmovie.com,” visitors to the incorrectly printed site are met with explicit material and an adults-only warning. The misprint quickly spread across social media as users pointed out the mix-up, making viral headlines. Mattel has not revealed how many toys were impacted by the error or whether a product recall is planned, though AP notes many have been pulled from major retailer websites. The brand did advise those who bought the dolls to either discard the packaging or cover up the incorrect URL to prevent any unintended website visits by children. (MashableWSJ)
