Support for the U.S. TikTok ban has fallen significantly. The latest Pew Research data shows that only 32% of Americans support a potential TikTok ban, a decrease from 50% in March 2023. By fall 2023, support had fallen to 38% when the Restrict Act was revised. And even after Congress and President Biden approved following the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversaries Act (PAFFAA), it continued to drop. While it initially seemed a somewhat divisive issue, support is declining across the board—even early supporters like Republican respondents and non-TikTok users have seen significant drops (-18pts each).
