Germany launched a new visa to recruit young talents from overseas. The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) allows people outside of the EU (including the U.K.) to live and work in Germany for a short period. The special visa is designed as an entry point to secure a full-time and longer-term contract once the workers have settled in the country for a little while. There’s no age limit to apply for the visa, but anyone under the age of 35 has priority—so the program is clearly targeting young people. The German government started the Chancenkarte to boost the stagnating economy as well as rejuvenate the country’s aging population. (Fortune)
