An increasing number of young adults feel disconnected from a sense of purpose. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the percentage of β€œdisconnected youth,” 18-to-24-year-olds not working and not in school, has been increasing since the 1990s. Although there was a slight decrease in the 2010s, the rate surged in the 2020s, and in 2022, 13.2% of young people in this age bracket were classified as disconnected. When young people lose connection to both schooling and work, it frequently triggers a negative cycleβ€”some may find a way out, but many struggle to overcome these challenges. (Business Insider)
