Clayful is a platform aiming to connect students with more mental health resources. The platform is geared towards students 8-18-years-old and helps them get connected with mental health experts within 60 seconds through instant messaging, aiming to address the shortage in school counselors. Clayful recently secured $7M in funding from investors such as Google Latino Founders Fund and Reach Capital. The company’s CEO emphasizes meeting students where they are through chat-based support and real-time problem solving and plans to use the funding to expand to more schools. Available to students for free and in 133 languages, Clayful has shown improved attendance rates for participants during the 2022-2023 school year. We know young people are prioritizing their mental health more than ever, and YPulse’s Mental Health report data shows three quarters of Gen Z agree: “Even if you’re not struggling mentally, a visit with a mental health professional can be very beneficial.” (TechCrunch)
