Lemon8 is not really taking off in the U.S. after all. Earlier this year, YPulse told you how Lemon8, the ByteDance app designed as an Instagram rival (with static image posts only) reached number 10 in U.S. Apple App Store top charts across overall apps and games, and ranked number nine on top charts excluding games. While buzz about the new app has been circulating on TikTok throughout the year, it seems as though it just hasn’t been able to gain traction in the U.S. like it has in other countries. Today, the app is much lower in the ranks and its total installs “are still fairly low for something that’s supposed to slide in to replace TikTok in the event of a ban.” (TechCrunch)
