Airbnb was accused of tax fraud in Italy—and is now paying a hefty fine. The Italian government is seizing €779M from Airbnb for alleged failure to pay taxes on some of its rental revenue in the country. This incident is part of a broader effort by Italian authorities to scrutinize the tax practices of global companies, with previous cases involving Netflix and Meta.
