More French Gen Z is getting high on laughing gas. According to a study by Santé Publique France, over 13% of 18-24-year-olds have tried nitrous oxide, a gas that provokes laughing and change of voice. Despite the sale of this psychotropic substance being banned for minors under 18-years-old two years ago in France, it remains accessible to adults—and many new videos of young people inhaling the gas from balloons are still going viral on TikTok. In the U.K., the government is having the same problem and is in the process of making nitrous oxide a class C product and banning it completely from sale. (France Info)
