Daylyy is the new social platform wanting to center authenticity. Just as BeReal aimed to make a platform for authentic, spontaneous posts that were without filter or perfection, Daylyy says it will do the same but without the “gimmick.” Plus, there’s no public comments or likes on the platform, which is done with the intent of eliminating the “performance” aspect of a post. With the hopes of growing a userbase past 50K by the end of the year, the company has brought on a former VSCO executive to head growth—and they’ve already established their goal for brand involvement. Like with BeReal, brand users would post the same way as everyone else does—which they hope will increase trust on the platform even with ads. YPulse data shows that BeReal came and went quickly, while the social platforms Daylyy and the likes want to compete with—namely, Instagram—are going nowhere from young people’s daily lives anytime soon.
