The beauty industry is increasingly incorporating the use of refillable packaging. With the growing concern over sustainability from consumers, beauty is taking a step towards going green by turning to eco-friendly packaging. For example, bareLUXE Skincare sells refills in recyclable pouches and balm formulas that come in biodegradable jars. Plus, The Body Shop just dropped a refillable lipstick tube developed with aluminum packaging. The VP of marketing and corporate social responsibility for The Body Shop North America says that “convenience” is a challenge when developing refillable packaging, but “younger shoppers, who are cognizant of what’s at stake for the planet, have boosted our refill adoption rates.” YPulse research shows that Gen Z and Millennials’ main actions that they think brands should take to help the environment include creating more eco-friendly products and packaging.
