Despite acknowledging the persistent issue of fake news, Gen Z and Millennials are actively following the news and expressing confidence in the accuracy of the sources they choose. After a significant decline in news consumption during and following the pandemic, there has been a recent resurgence among Gen Z and Millennials. In fact, in 2023, young consumers are +10 points more likely to be following the news compared to 2022. And as such, it’s important to know exactly where they’re getting this news—especially for media brands looking to connect with them in light of their renewed commitment to staying in-the-know.
