Baggu is finding newfound hype amongst Gen Z thanks to TikTok. Although the reusable tote bag company has been around for over a decade and a half, they are gaining traction with the Gen Z crowd. Much of this resurfaced interest in the brand comes from TikTok where creators are sharing their love for the bags under videos where they call themselves “Baggu girlies,” amassing over 130M views under the hashtag #Baggu. Along with the social media platform’s success in making the totes popular once again, the “accessible price point” ($14) and “eco-conscious ethos” are other reasons why the next generation of consumers love Baggu. YPulse’s Sustainability report data shows that 82% of Gen Z say they’d rather use a reusable bag compared to 18% saying they’d rather use a single-use plastic bag. (NYT)
