Google shoppers can now see what clothes look like on diverse body types with the help of artificial intelligence. Using a generative diffusion-based AI model, Google Shopping now allows consumers to see clothing worn on a range of human models with different skin tones, ethnicities, hair types, and sizes from XXS to 4XL. For now, only women’s tops from retailers including H&M, Everlane, Anthropologie, and Loft are working with the AI try-on feature, but as the technology continues to progress, Google expects for men’s tops and other varieties of clothing to be featured soon. While young consumers had a poor reaction when Levi’s first used the tech, it’s apparent more brands are still hopeful to use AI to display size inclusivity on a range of IRL models. (The Verge)
