British pudding is making a comeback thanks to young diners. In some of the countryβs fine dining restaurants, sticky toffee pudding, fruit crumble, and trifle are back on the menus. At Gordon Ramsayβs Savoy Grill, sticky toffee pudding is the most popular dessert, while Liverpool Street Chop House has doubled its traditional pudding sales compared with this time last year, serving more than 1K portions of sticky toffee pudding and mixed fruit crumble every week. At Aqua Shard, demand for apple tarte tatin among younger guests has even led to the restaurant offering it throughout the day, rather than just at dinner. Gen Z is no stranger to a midday sweet treat, after all! The revival is part of a wider return to comfort food (we reported onΒ jacket potatoesβ return a few months ago!), with social media and influencers helping turn these nostalgic desserts into stars of the menu.
