eBay is teaching British Gen Z adults how to be “better” entrepreneurs. New research from eBay finds nearly two thirds of 18-24-year-old Brits make money outside paid employment through selling, freelancing, content creation, and more. Their entrepreneurial mindset is showing up in their ambitions, too. Two in five (40%) would like to start a business in the future, while more than half (53%) agree that starting a business is a realistic career option for someone like them. But eBay says Gen Z’s entrepreneurial ambition is outpacing their practical business know-how. To help close it, eBay partnered with King’s Trusts to launch eBay Self Made, a six-month youth entrepreneurship program. With the help of eBay sellers and industry experts, they’ll teach 15 young people the basics of running a business, from live selling and content creation to community building. Participants will also receive at least six months of follow-up support to help turn their side hustles into something bigger—or connect them with established businesses. (ChannelX)
